Factors Determining the Lesson Fees

Several considerations may influence the price of piano lessons in Singapore. At Sonare Music School, we are transparent about these factors to help families and individuals make an informed choice.

Teacher Qualifications

Our teachers hold formal qualifications from respected boards such as ABRSM and LCM. Many have been with us for over a decade, providing consistency in teaching and mentorship.

Frequency

Our annual schedule includes 44 lessons per year. Students may increase the frequency based on their learning pace and goals. More frequent lessons may involve adjusted monthly fees to accommodate scheduling.

Goals / Outcomes

Whether you’re aiming for graded certification or learning casually for enjoyment, the structure and intensity of the course will influence piano lesson fees in Singapore. Exam-focused courses include integrated theory components and performance preparation, while leisure courses offer more flexible pacing.

Payment Methods, Withdrawal Policy, Makeup Lesson Policy

As a community-focused, family-run school, we value transparency and flexibility. Below are the guidelines related to class payments and attendance for both Classical and Leisure piano lessons in Singapore.

Payment Methods

Payment is collected monthly, with all fees inclusive of GST. A one-time enrolment fee of $32.70 applies upon registration. Students are also required to place a one-month refundable deposit to secure their lesson time slot.

We accept payments via Cash, Credit Card, PayNow, Bank Transfer or Cheque. Payments made after the 15th of each month will incur a late payment penalty of 50% of the most recent school fees paid. Students experiencing temporary or long-term financial difficulty are encouraged to contact us early to explore alternative arrangements.

Makeup Lesson Policy

Make-up lessons are guaranteed as long as requests are submitted via our simple digital replacement lesson request form, with at least 24 hours’ notice. The link to the form will be provided upon enrolment and will differ by teacher. Requests that do not meet this 24-hour requirement may not be eligible for make-up. Lesson days and times are otherwise fixed unless otherwise agreed upon with the teacher. Please note that late arrivals will not be extended beyond the allocated time.

Withdrawal Policy

Withdrawal from lessons requires a written notice submitted and acknowledged before the 7th of the final month of lessons. Requests made and acknowledged after the 7th will take effect only at the end of the following month. The deposit will be refunded after the last lesson of the student’s final month and cannot be used to offset any remaining fees.

Trial Lessons Available

Not sure if your child is ready for lessons? Thinking of picking the piano up again after a long break? We understand that committing to a new journey takes thought, and that’s why we offer trial lessons, subject to availability.

Each trial lesson is conducted as a full 1-to-1 session with one of our experienced teachers. It gives students a chance to get familiar with the environment, understand our teaching approach, and decide if it’s the right fit before enrolling formally.

  • Trial fee: $20 per lesson
  • Up to 2 trial lessons allowed per student

Trial slots are limited and subject to teacher availability
